We also invite those who are in a position to do so to make a contribution to our Adopt-a-Performance Program or GoFundMe Campaign; this will ensure our production - which is produced without the financial assistance of any major corporate sponsors, governmental organizations, granting bodies, or other similar funding - remains viable so we can continue to present it year after year. CAST

Chloe Bradt (She/Her) – Martha Cratchit / Gus the Goose-Fetching Lad

Chloe is returning for her sixth year with Three Ships Collective and Soup Can Theatre. After a very early start with modeling she continues with some film commercial work. It was after her first film role at age 6 she decided she loves performance, now including Theatre Sports. She is now a senior at Cardinal Carter academy for the arts and is looking towards posting secondary studies in theatre and dramatic arts. Chloe is fully bilingual in French and English. She is also active in other sports and music. Chloe is again thrilled to be a part of such an accomplished cast in such a novel venue.

Justine Christensen (She/Her) – Belle / Alice

Justine is a Toronto-born actor, writer, and producer. She is a co-founder of LET ME IN, a platform through which she produces remodeled “classic” works for a contemporary audience through remixing, altering, satirizing, and gender-bending. Her favourite acting credits include Rosalind (As You Like It, GBTS Theatre), Kayleen (Gruesome Playground Injuries, Theatre at Eastminster), and Bridget (Cannibal, Nextstage Festival 2019). Justine has appeared in TV series such as Chucky, The Expanse, Murdoch Mysteries, The Next Step, and The Umbrella Academy. She has worked with Convergence Theatre, Pat The Dog Theatre Creation, and Nightwood Theatre to hone her skills as a producer. Justine is currently working on her own content, which you can follow along with on IG @letmeinprods & @justinextnsn. Thanks for coming out to celebrate the holidays with us!

Nicholas Eddie (He/Him/They/Them) – Barleycorn / Young Ebenezer

Nicholas is an award winning performer and theatre creator currently residing in Toronto. Productions that Nicholas has been involved in have been nominated for a total of 12 Dora Awards. Most recently, Nicholas received accolades for his one person show ONE NIGHT ONLY, a play about a mental health crisis which toured to 7 cities across Canada; it was nominated for a My Entertainment World Award, a Frankie Award, and won the Patron’s Pick award at the Toronto Fringe. He is currently developing a new musical about Amelia Earhart with his writing partner Catherine Teichman, previously developed under Bad Hats’ “New Bad Ideas” development program. This winter, Nicholas will be returning to Bad New Days for their new show Last Landscape, premiering at Buddies in Bad Times in January. On screen, Nicholas can be seen as Kreel in the new season of Twisted Metal (Peacock).

Thomas Gough (He/Him) – Ebenezer Scrooge

Thomas works frequently in the Independent Theatre in Toronto, having appeared in the last few years with the Alumnæ Theatre, Safeword, Single Thread, the Toronto Fringe Festival, the Storefront, Thought For Food, Theatre Lab, Plain Stage, Unspoken Theatre, and Hart House Theatre, as well as Theatre By The Bay (Barrie) and the Kick And Push Festival (Kingston). He also does film, television, and recording work.

For his initial performance as Ebenezer Scrooge in Three Ships Collective’s perenially sold-out production of A Christmas Carol, he was given the My Entertainment Critics’ Pick Award for the best performance by an actor in an independent theatre production. He also won the 1997 Nobel Prize for Kvetching.

Justin Hay (He/Him) – Bob Cratchit

Justin is thrilled to join the cast of A Christmas Carol. Most recently, he performed his solo show My Own Private Shakespeare in New York, following performances at the Edinburgh Fringe, and in Toronto. He also wrote and directed Saskatchewan: An Aspirational Polyamorous Adventure at the Toronto Fringe. Other notable acting credits include Your Children Will Follow, Hymns and Hearse, See You Tomorrow for CBC, Brutus in Julius Caesar: In Shallows and In Miseries, and a range of roles in the sci-fi podcast series The Program. Justin will appear in Hallmark’s A Diamond Engagement, set to premiere next year.

Michael Hogan (He/Him) – Augustus Scrooge / Old Joe

Spencer Jones (He/Him) – Jacob Marley

Spencer is a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, studying in both Los Angeles and New York before moving to Toronto. His previous stage work includes Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet, Amy Herzog’s The Great God Pan, and Stephen Diethelm’s Neutrality. He has recently written & directed his debut short film Cold Turkey through his company PickleBack Productions in the UK. Thank you to Three Ships Collective for the amazing opportunity, and to my wonderful agents and loving parents for their unwavering support.

jonnie lombard (They/Them) – Ghost of Christmas Present / Ghost of Christmases Yet to Come

jonnie is a performer/thing from the woods stumbling through the side-quests of sentience in Toronto. They create and party in campy pop-art melodrama playgrounds, or anywhere that lets them wear a fun little hat and make a new friend. They’re thrilled to be back with the Christmas Carol Crew getting re-possessed by some festive spirits past, present, and yet to come. Recently they’ve been a canine cyber-demon (MAYBE I’LL JUST STOP / Factory Theatre), a potty-mouthed pigeon (Featherhead / Birdbrain Theatre Co.), a snail-mountain lovechild (Curses! / Big Kablammo Collective), a Wizard DJ (UVGP / Pickles Theatre Co.) and a shotgun wielding punk-rock Tim Horton’s manager (The Other Paris / Ghost Tower Theatre Co.). If you ask jonnie to dance they’ll always say yes.

Ava Marquis (She/Her) – Tim Cratchit / Little Ebenezer

Ava is returning for her third year with the Three Ships Collective’s A Christmas Carol. Ava loves all types of performing including acting, voice acting, singing and dancing. She trains and competes in dance and voice with the Beaches Dance and Music Studio and studies singing and acting with Margo Brooke Pellmar. Ava studies in French Immersion and is active in her middle school playing volleyball and learning to play the flute in the school band. She’s delighted to be a part of this wonderful production and wishes everyone a warm holiday season!

Eliza Martin (She/Her) – Ghost of Christmases Past / Peter Cratchit

Eliza is an award-winning theatre artist, author, and artist educator. Eliza has created such works as: O (NYC United Solo Award Best Satire, All About Solo, Critics’ Choice), Harvey & The Extraordinary (My Entertainment World – 2018 Critics’ Pick Award Nominee, Outstanding Solo Performance) and BLOOM (Bad Hats Theatre, 2019 Creator-in-Residence). Some of Eliza’s favourite acting credits include: Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Isabella in The Changeling (Shakespeare BASH’d), Katie in The Money Tree (Roseneath Theatre), Molly in Peter and The Starcatcher (LOT), Hedvig in The Wild Duck Project (Re:Current Theatre), Cecily in The Importance of Being Earnest (Hart House Theatre), u/s Louise in Gypsy, Patricia in Hiding Like Elephants (Hangar Theatre), and Hanna in Otium (Seven to Forty Cinema). Kiori Mirza Waldman (She/Her) – Little Ebenezer / Tim Cratchit

Kiori is thrilled to be part of this theatre production, where she’s bringing her passion for performance to the stage. Kiori has been training intensively at Children’s Art Theatre School and Armstrong Acting Studio where all her hard work just landed her a recurring role in an upcoming TV series. Recently, she also starred as the lead in a short musical comedy film. A passionate musician, Kiori has been training in voice and piano for over six years. When she’s not on set or in the studio, you’ll likely find her sketching up quirky doodles or hanging out with her two adorable cats, who may just be her biggest (and fluffiest) fans.

Annie Lockerbie Newton (She/Her) – Violinist / Bailiwick

Annie Lockerbie Newton is a theatre-maker, clown, puppeteer, producer, and teacher. She graduated from École Jacques Lecoq and George Brown Theatre School. Co-founder of the French/Norwegian company Théâtre Amok, she has been touring their second original production, THE VOID, for the past year. An absurd clown show about spiritual enlightenment, THE VOID was nominated for Best Emerging Artist and The Funny Bones Award for Best Comedy at the Stockholm Fringe in 2024.

Kendelle is a Black Canadian actor and theatre artist, based in the GTA. She is a graduate of the BFA acting program at Toronto Metropolitan University, and is thrilled to be joining this cast and team for the holiday season! John Fleming (He/Him) – Dialect Coach

John is an actor, producer, and dialect coach. He’s coached film & television shows like Umbrella Academy & The Boys, coached dozens of theatrical productions from Dora-winning shows, to big musicals, to previous productions of Three Ship’s Christmas Carol. He’s acted on stage in multiple shows with the Red One Theatre Collective, and on television including Murdoch Mysteries and Frankie Drake. He also produces and stars in action films/TV, including the upcoming BRAWL*STARS. Pratik Gandhi (He/Him) – Composer / Music Director Emeritus

Pratik is a conductor, percussionist, clinician, and researcher based in Toronto. He is Soup Can Theatre’s music director emeritus, and has conducted, composed, and arranged music for many of their best-loved productions, including Love is a Poverty You Can Sell and A Christmas Carol. Pratik is currently music director of the Rouge River Winds and Vice-Chair of the Concert Band division of MusicFest Canada. He is also a sessional lecturer in the University of Toronto Faculty of Music, where he directs the Wind Symphony. Pratik is very active in Toronto’s new music scene, and is credited as conductor on several recordings of new music, including the Juno-nominated track “Granitic” from Bekah Simms’ debut album, impurity chains. Pratik received B.Mus. and M.Mus. degrees from the University of Western Ontario, and is currently a Ph.D. student at York University, investigating issues of equity and representation among wind band composers in Canada

Justin Haigh (He/Him) – Playwright / Assistant Director / Co-Producer

Justin is a Toronto-based writer and theatre artist. After earning a BFA in Film Production and Screenwriting, Justin stumbled into the wonderful world of independent theatre. Justin is proud to be one of the founding members of Soup Can Theatre and has enjoyed working on their productions in a multitude of capacities – including as playwright, director, producer, set designer, sound designer, and dramaturge. Credits include Love is a Poverty You Can Sell, Marat/Sade, Antigone, A Hand of Bridge / No Exit, Love is a Poverty You Can Sell 2: Kisses for a Pfennig, The Session, and Heretic. Justin has also written for CBC Comedy and is the writer-director of the critically acclaimed sketch revue, Behold, the Barfly!.

Claudia Matas is a freelance costume designer based in Toronto. She’s worked in all areas wardrobe related; from working as a Stitcher for Stratford’s 2024 season, to being a dresser for Drayton Entertainment and George Brown College, to working as a Wardrobe Assistant for Tarragon over the years. Claudia is a young creative that is excited to work on new cool projects with smart, cool women.

Sare Thorpe (They/Them) – Director / Co-Producer

Sare (they/them) is a queer nonbinary director, actor, writer, and co-founder of Soup Can Theatre. They hold a BAH in Theatre from York University.
